Anissa Scales: Like I googled it, chronic facial pain and it set me their to that website itsmn.com and I started reading about TMJ. Okay facial pain, okay, teeth, may be, okay, may be I continued to read on. It was like someone wrote a book about me from the migraines to the dizziness but no apparent reason to no ringing in the ear such as totally drives you nuts to the jaw clicking and the jaw pain. I am like, okay, I am experiencing all of these things but there is no way it could be, my teeth, my jaw, and like I just continued to read on and I read a couple of testimonials from other people who have suffered for many years more than I have, two and half years is a long time but there are people who suffered a major part of their life because of TMJ and I being diagnosed and I think it is possibly a problem with the jaw.
I clicked on that file and I started reading the Bio, his practice and how he specializes in this and I just decided to give him a call to see if he can help me. Basically the symptom started out with a spell of vertical and it did up in the ear. Then I come an x-ray to everyday and did a scan and just kind of that. I thought, may be it’s sinus problem and kind of set me on way. They suggested that I see an ear, nose and throat doctor. And there started a whole chain of reaction from the ear, nose and throat doctor to three different neurologists. From one of the neurologists telling me, basically all I can do was pray to get better, that he can’t help me. From there I started to seek alternative therapy, I went acupuncturist, I’ve started taking herbs, I started physical therapy thinking that may be everything was from stress. No one can really help me.
I received several neuro blocks in the back of my head and I had the nerves to try to stop the pain, several different migraine medications, antidepressants, because you know, since they can’t find anything on. They took my five MRIs, two on the brain, one on the ear canal, one on the orbits of the eye and. Nothing was found. I was even told that this is psychosomatic illness that it’s all in my head because they think you are okay, you are not a doctor so you can’t treat yourself, but these doctors are telling you, there’s nothing wrong, we don’t find anything wrong with you. It’s not tumour, thank god, you know we are happy about that, there is no cancer, okay that’s fine, there’s no arthritis.
I was having daily chronic migraine headaches. I went blue for no apparent reason and I just really can not understand why, why do I have to take a pill everyday and the pill wasn’t even helping and then I end up the ER because the migraines will not go away. Then I have to get to break the migraine. Nothing is wrong but why I am having migraines, nothing’s wrong but I am dizzy everyday. I am running into the dresser, I am dropping things, I am up all night, my ears are buzzing and ringing, it’s something, you know and I’ve been told. I have told that it can possibly be a brain tumor and they told several different things that scared the living daylights out of me.
And to come to this point and find out that it was my jaw, that upset me into have gone through so many doctors. So I led back on that and I am like, wow, not one person even check this or even match it, may be you should see a specialist, may be you need to go to the dentist, something as simple as that, that was never mentioned, never mentioned. So I never thought to go to dentist. Now, because you have these headaches and visual problems also and ringing in the ear to may be aneurysm. So I actually left, I actually had a test done where they stick a catheter through your groin and insert it all the way up through your neck to your brain and shoot blood to see if that is aneurysm.
It took them back on that to see that it was my jaw and my risk my life trying to figure what this was and to get out of pain and to stop having the headaches and it was my jaw and I let them actually stick something in my brain and I was back on there like, I am happy I am alive to know that it is my jaw but that was very dangerous.
You know I think people do resort to do whatever it’s going to take to get out of pain because the pain is so bad and the neck problems and the back problems. And you know I told my husband, it feels like a shrug, I say my left leg is – on migraines, I went in the evening and I called my neurologists and I said, I am in a lot of pain, what can I do? You know they aren’t working. And he says, well you know sweetheart, there is nothing left that I can do for you, at this point, you need diving intervention.
Find out that it is my jaw, I am very happy, said there will be no surgeries and I can jump to conclusions and had surgery just to try to get out of pain, which was then am hoping to do and no medication, I have dispatched thousands of thousands of dollars of medication, migraine minutes, antidepressant. You want to live, you do want to actually, you want to be out of pain, you know you were once the normal and then something happens and you are basically a vegetable lane in the -- watching your life pass by, you know, which pain coconut take today, for maybe a half hour of pain free.
So I started reading, it just read about his background and a couple of testimonials from other patients, and I said, wow, let me see what this is all about. Normally when you find someone who can possibly help you, it’s not in your area, it’s out of state, many, many miles away and thank god for me, he is only five miles away. He was amazing, Tim was amazing, it was overwhelming to say this is what it is, a long journey, thousands of dollars later. But I am so very happy that I found him.
