Halla: Hello everyone this is Halla from Information Leak, another exiting adventure. Today we're going to be changing some of the general system information on your machine. If you go to for example the control panel to a system, you'll see I've already modified mine a little bit, which to me at Dr. Evil and it's the Dr. Evil Edition and as you can see Dr. Evil is clearly present. The Support Information is as such would you do like to a hot pocket Scott?
So any way figured this is kind of stupid fun to do, that's really hard I think, so let's go over how to do that. First thing you are going to need to do is go to your root directory window system32 as is using XP as you saw earlier. Once you are there, you are going to find the following files the oem.ini, oeminfo.ini right here and open that up. Within this you'll see that these are the comments of one side here, to semicolons to comments. Your manufacture and model displayed on the system general page, blah... blah... blah...
So, basically you manufacturer equals or supports your -- equals and down here in the support information this is that little pop up piece that we saw earlier. So the support information here as if you hit that this is where this occurs, now you'll notice I have a quite few lines ready set-ups, line1, line2, line3 etcetera. You'll notice there is no line6, this means that this doesn't show up, okay.
The reason that this doesn't show up is because I don't have a line6, therefore it consider itself toast at that point end, so if I save that and to just show you. Hi to the internet file, save, yes, it does it, and 1, 2, 3 quickly. So here support information, see Hi has shown up and you'll notice that if I can -- a little bit, you'll notice that last line, this doesn't show up, will not show up because it's not that if I change this for line6, notice it's not 7 then you'll see that it doesn't case work. In fact work I should say, but there is really no point doing that, that's the thing now is that if you had all that done, you might be wondering well that's all well and good, but how some of that other information.
Well that's within the registry, but before we get to that let's mess with OEM logo. The OEM logo is the logo that shows up in that support information area, the manufactured by area that you saw earlier. So as you can see here I've change the registered owner information as well. How do I do that? That's through a registry edit. Registry edit is located, you have to open you know start, run like this type in regedit click okay. Now it opens up your registry.
Now at this point I'm already where I have to be, but where that is quite simply local machine to software to Microsoft to Windows NT to Current, so once you have Windows NT current version and this is what we are dealing with right here and you can see the different information that's given, it's pretty simple, registered organization, right click and modify, change it whatever you like, click ok. Same thing with the registered owner and what have you, so there have it, wait to add a little bit of flavor to your operating system and hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
Oh! For the record you'll notice in the background how this fits good, there is two ways of doing that. When you are doing a bitmap, you can either take a screenshot of your screen, cut a little piece out and paste it onto your logo and then use that particular picture you know or know that the RGB code is 192.192.192 for this particular type of gray. The other thing I should also mention is that the sizing the maximum sizing of the picture seems to be about 180 wide by 120 height. That's all we are going to depend on, if that's seems to be the max size, it takes is 180 by 120, so and again the RGB code 192.192.192. Any case hope you enjoyed, this is Halla from Information Leak, signing off once again, till next time.
