Welcome to PCWizKid tip number seven, send it over. Right now I'm going to show you how you can customize the send to context menu in Windows Vista. So for example, if you have a file that you want to send to note pad, note pad is not available on my screen when I right click on the file, and I go to send to. So let me show you how you would add notepad okay. So click on the start, then click on run, if you don’t have the run option use the windows key plus the R key, then in the run command window type in Shell column send to, okay. Once you’ve typed that in, press the okay button, up comes the sent to folder window. Essentially, what we are going to do is copy and paste a shortcut of your program in this case notepad into this window. Alright, so now we’ll just click on the start button again, click on all programs and then choose accessories and then under accessories notepad is listed there.
So essentially, you want to copy that and paste in the send to window. So right click on notepad click on copy and then switchover to the send to window and right click there and then click on paste. So now, that we've pasted the shortcut notepad there, it will be available when you right click on a file and you click on send to. So you can see here I’ll right click on it and it click on send to and there is notepad now available as an option for me to send this document through. So when click on it, there it is, it’s all set, I can type in it and enjoy.
