How to Cut Monitor Energy Waste – Windows

If you are looking for a simple tool to help you quickly close your pc down for the night, I’ve got just a thing. It’s a free simple tool called Monitor ES or energy saver available at code.google.com/p/monitores.
Monitor ES turns off your monitor whenever you lock your system or use the hot key. You can also set it to pause your media player and set your IM status to away at the same time. Plus, it can auto run and start up and it hides in the system tray waiting until you need it.
So, if you want to speed up your shutdown process or just want a way to turn off your laptop screen without closing the lid, Monitor ES is the tool for you.
