How to Cut a Cigar

Hello and welcome to Tobbaconist University. In this segment, we are going to teach you how to make the perfect cut. Different Cigar is cut differently. You can't punch a Figurado, the way you can a Parejo. But with either type of cigar, no matter what cutter you are using, crib the cigar firmly just below the shoulder, the goal of the perfect cut is to remove just enough wrapper for the cigar to draw well.

Cutting too deep increases the risk that the cigar wrapper will unwrapple. So with a firm grip, take hold of the cigar just below the shoulder, and cut with a smooth single motion.

Remember, with a Figurado, you can adjust the depth of the cut to suit your preference. Ultimately, the perfect cut honors the craftsmanship and integrity of the cigar you are about to enjoy.
