(Music Playing)
Right now, we are not talking about the actual position of the pitch control in the last mix. This is just in general, alright? Now let us say the final position of the pitch control to mix in let’s say one record into the other, it going to be minus 3.9. Now then you have notice what I do by the way like I am going two things is one of my and you’ll notice I will do one of this, I go down up down up down up down up down up. But more often my movements a quite sharp and then they get smaller and smaller and smaller and smaller and smaller until eventually that just tiny movement slight so. I will explain why I do that. Now let’s say, we need to get the position of the pitch control at 3.9. Now let’s say for example now what we are doing is the pitch control starts from the green lights and then we go. Both records are going on or let’s say the one record is playing and I’m mixing in the next one, alright?
Now in the first thing I am going to do because I know straight away that the other record is slow, slower tan the next one. I have to slow slow it down. But if I slow this one down here, straight away down to 3.9 there is a very good chance that it would still be too fast. I have to slow it down to minus seven and then when it’s cooled up in beat, I need to bring it up to say minus two. Now nearing in mind, this is done very very quickly. If you do it slowly, you are going to be off beat within seconds. So we go from the green light to minus seven then minus two. Now what is happening is the movements are getting smaller. So from the minus seventh position and the minus two the next movement down would say unite beat to minus six. And then you bring it up to 2.5 and then perhaps 4.2, and then finally you would find that you are getting closer and closer minus four and then eventually you bring it up 3.9.
Okay, so again if I class that now, let’s say that’s the position with the final position we need the pitch to be, okay? And the pitch control could be that, that it does not really matter to be that here here or here, not really, alright. So what we are doing is we start and we move big movements and slowly smaller and smaller, tiny and tiny movements till eventually it’s almost like that. Now think about it the principle with the ticking clock. They both tic at exactly the same time when they start off but if you left them for long enough, eventually they go tic tic tic tic same principle with this really. This is why you always see my fingers o9n the pitch control on 99percent of the time because apart from the fact eventually they could go off. It’s a good idea to keep your fingers on that because if they do go off, you’ll guaranteed of just that continual movement your fingers are in tune with the beat and you are keeping in time, okay? So again do not forget that, very important alright? I’ll speak to you soon. Practice and enjoy.
