Ross Todorovic: Hello, and welcome to the Passion of Tango, Tango Fundamentals volume one, my name is Ross Todorovic.
Camille Yannantuono: I am Camille Yannantuono.
Ross Todorovic: So a side step here, and slow on my right foot quick, quick and you can see her going into the Cruzada. I also use my arm a little bit to extend out, but the motion is more so me throwing her with my body and she feels that.
Camille Yannantuono: So for the ladies when we are being led into this Cruzada here, I am going to do part of our basic eight, we are going to side walk, walk, walk. He speeds it up and that's when I am going to do my Cruzada step crossing.
So the most important step here is not transferring your weight. So as soon as he does the Cruzada we go side left, right, left he speeds it up. My foot is waving here. So I don't automatically jump on to my left foot, I am just going to wait here and he is going to initiate the next part, transfer me to my weight and going to the next movement. So let's try from over here for the ladies.
So we are going to go side or walking, walking, the speed is up and we cross. He start to initiate it, I change my way and then we go back into our basic close.
Ross Todorovic: We'll take it from one more angle just to give you more perspective. So we'll start from over here, walking away for the camera, side step, walking step, step, quick, quick when she closes. Now I can change her weight here, forward left side and close, and back side and close. Okay and that's your leading the Cruzada which is really important when you are doing your basic eight. It is not necessarily, it's always in eight pattern, you can actually walk it out. You are always going to have a one or two and then you just keep walking and you can walk as much as you want before the Cruzada happens and then you can finish off with your last steps 6, 7, 8, or you can go into what we are going to next, which is called a quarter turn.
