Big Think is a global forum connecting people and ideas. It may be a cliché to say that knowledge is power, but that doesn’t make the statement any less true. We know that there are just 24 hours in a day, that you are bombarded with information, and that the bombardment will only escalate. We believe that not all information is equal. We believe that expertise is invaluable and should be shared. If you had a heart problem and could afford the counsel of the world’s leading cardiologists, you would seek their advice. If you owned a business and wanted to expand into China or Russia, you’d want to hear from people who had already done that. At Big Think, we put you in contact with the ideas of very smart people. We do not believe that experts have all the answers. On many subjects deep thinkers disagree. We do believe that we will all make better decisions in our personal and professional lives if our thinking is informed by expert opinion.

When you are 82 and your husband will be 81 and your only child/son has passed over...you feel more than lost and lonely about this subject. You've picked out your family members to handle all your final things, but the final thought about who will be left behind is not comforting etc. Words have not really given too much peace. Any sugestions here? How this pain just eats on you and not even the peace the Lord promises seems not to remove the rock in the stomach. Oh well, somehow people seem to come when you need them. Having just been diagnosed with cancer for the 3rd time and deciding I don't want treatment again, I'm having a hard time with friends and family understanding that although it's my decision to die I still need their support.
