Linda Sherry: One of the best resources that consumers have in dealing with identity theft is the Federal Trade Commission or the FTC, ID theft clearing house and this is a compendium of great material, but it’s also you can call on the phone, you can register yourself as an identity theft victim. You can download a FTC, ID theft affidavit and fill it out and use it to prove your innocence. The information on the site is very clear and easy to read and it is available in English and Spanish.
Another great resource for ID theft is the Privacy Rights Clearing House. Out of San Diego, this is the national organization that offers just so much a great wealth of advice on all kinds of ID theft. There is also a couple of Law Enforcement Agencies that you need to know about that had jurisdiction over law enforcement and that's the FBI and the US Postal Inspector.
