Hello! And welcome to the Knee Pain Guru, Knee Pain Questions Answered. I have a question from Joy. It says, hi! I am Joy, I am 50 years old and I have osteoarthritis in both knees. I don't want to do the replacement, tell me how to deal with it?
Well Joy, there are many different levels that you are dealing with when you have osteoarthritis, and once again the arthritis is the pain and tension and discomfort that you would experience in your knee joints. And I believe I have spoken on previous videos how the -- I have taken a look at the MRI of osteoarthritis or arthritis in the knee joint and what it looks like is there is battery acid wearing away at the cartilage, and the meniscus within the knee joint.
And the big thing I can suggest, one huge tip that I think is really great as far as dealing with arthritis as well as any sort of pain in the knee is to increase your water intake, and the guide to go by is generally your body weight divided by two in ounces of water per day.
So once again net your bodyweight, so for instance, I am about 200 pounds divided by two, so you will be looking at a 100, and that would be a 100 ounces of water per day, I would drink in water to keep my body fully hydrated that would flush out a lot of the toxins in my body, especially the stuff that's building up in the knee, creating the acidic state that irritates the nerve endings that contributes to the pain that you feel in your knee.
So hopefully that answered your question. If there's any other, please send those questions to me at Bill@TheKneePainGuru.com and I will be more than happy to answer. Thanks a lot. Bye, bye.
