Pam Peeke: We all had issues and excuses when it comes to taking care of our health. Just give me two minutes of your time and I’ll help you figure out what to do with yours. You got any health problems?
Patricia: I do. I'm not as healthy as I would.
Pam Peeke: Alright, so you saw anyone out here.
Patricia: Bad thing. I had a compression blood pressure in my L3-L3 vertebra like three years ago and I think things has really gone downhill since then. I have osteoporosis.
Pam Peeke: You have osteoporosis.
Patricia: I simple bent over in my apartment to pick up a magazine off the floor and I bear it like that.
Pam Peeke: Did you do physical therapy?
Patricia: No.
Pam Peeke: Why?
Patricia: I don’t know.
Pam Peeke: Alright, here’s the deal. There are fabulous therapists who are trained to be able to deal with this. Hit it with the right physical therapist and what they’re going to show you is how to use the rest of your body to strengthen and also to help strengthen your back. I bet you didn’t know something. The stronger you abs, the stronger your back but for the time being we have to practice our posture because that’s one of the most important thing. Here’s how.
The first thing I want you to do, bring your shoulders forward, bring them up to your ears right here, bring them back and let them settle. That’s the posture you're going for. Let’s stand up and do it. Okay, here we’re going to do it now. Just put your shoulders forward, look at me and then bring them up through all the way back and let them fall just right there. What are the differences so you were doing this and that’s the worst thing you could do to your back. Your back is like this and suck it in right there.
Patricia: I'm trying.
Pam Peeke: Aren’t we all and then you do that, when you suck it in strong back, great posture you’ll feel so much better. Alright you can walk around like that.
Patricia: Okay.
