One of my favorite projects was making the window seat for Kennedy's room in the Holloway home. The Creative Ideas team just took ready-made unfinished kitchen cabinets and painted them a Kennedy color. Then to frame out the seat area, they attached cabinets to either side of the window.
What a great solution this was!
To make the seat, we used an over-the-fridge cabinet. Topping it off with a precut piece of finished three-quarter plywood, with sanded edges and painted to match the color scheme. Then if you want, you can add a curtain and a cushion, and there you have it, a secret little spot to watch the world go by, plus awesome storage, where she can keep all of her toys and get it all put away, which before was kind of a mess.
What's so cool about this project apart from adding real charm to the room is that these cabinets are all in stock, so you can walk into Lowe's, buy them and walk out the same day. Learn how you can create even more projects like this at LowesCreativeIdeas.com.
