ELBOW PUSH FROM SINGLE UNDER PASS
Alright, the next thing that we are going to work on, is going to be when our opponent, attempts a single under pass, okay? We are in guard, and our opponent is attempting to go underneath to break our guard open. Now in pursuing Jiu-Jitsu, there are a lot of drills they use. Like this is forward scissoring, back and forth ,to try to maintain guard and it's a good drill, but in an innovate submission grabbing match, there is an easier way to approach this. We are here, our opponent reaches under, when we feel that we are going to lose this position, we want to take our hand and put it right on the back of his elbow; now as he pushes our weight over, we want to push his elbow and just sit up with him, okay?
Again, our opponent goes for a single under, I know right here, I know I am about to lose this position, so immediately I start finding his arm, as he pushes, I sit up with him and drive the elbow straight away from me, alright? Another angle, our opponent reaches under, immediately I find the elbow as he pushes over, sit up, I drive him away from me. Now I can start working, he will probably pull turtle, it will be a scramble from position, but that's a good way to prevent you from having him pass your guard and get straight to his side now. One last time go on the other way, our opponent reaches under, we are going to push straight out, it's a good way. If we are going to have to lose the guard, we don't want him to end up in a dominant position. So once he has gotten a single under, you can try the triangle, but he's really doing the single under correctly, you are going to have a hard time getting it, this is a good option that you have to -- while you are losing your position, at least make it to where he doesn't end in a dominating one.
