ESTABLISHING GUARD (SIDE MOUNT ESCAPE)
Alright, we found ourself underneath our opponent's side mount. The first thing that we've got to do is first off watch out for his submissions. We want to keep our elbows enclosed to us and our hands down. We don't want to be up and around where he get underneath our elbows and set up different arm bars and Americanas. We want to keep our elbows down, our hands in close.
From here I like to use this part of his body and this part of his hips for my forearms to kind of give me some space. I am going to create space, I am shrimped (ph) out from underneath him. The first escape that we are going to work on is actually pushing back to our guard.
So I have got my feet enclosed, if I feel like he is trying to cross over the mount, I like to put my knee up on his hip and on my knee. So that I don't how to say you just kind of hold it with leg muscle, I just drop it up there in space, alright.
So I have to give myself some space. We are going to try full guard. I bump him and I get my back, I don't want to have my back flat on the ground. So I bump him and I get under him.
This shin is going to come across his belt line. I am going to be working in for guard, alright. So we have got our arms in, we give him a good bump and we shrimp out. We are going to start working underneath until we can establish a full guard, alright.
From another angle. We are here. We have both of our arms in. We are going to bump and create space. See how much space there is between us now, I bumped. Now I am going to bring my knee to my elbows just like the knee to elbow escape from mount. I am going to bring my knee across here. I am going to push off and turn my body, so we are here all the way over into guard. Alright, one more time.
This is one clean movement. I lot of times you will have to take it in steps, okay. So we bump over into guard, alright.
Full speed we are working on a side mount. He is going for different submissions, we're maneuvering, I give him a bump, over into guard.
One last angle. I've got my forearm on his hips. This forearm across the shoulders, I bump him over into my guard.
