Tornados used to give me nightmares. I mean to these days sometimes I would dream a being a tornado. I grow up in Iowa and tornados is during spring and summer were just fact of life and tornadoes hit few of the people who followed the videos on live.pirillo.com and we now find, I think the wild cat chases them, you chasing tornados, it is fun. Yeah, I like slamming my face up against rocks, it is fun.
Appropriately I got a top seven severe weather tips list. What is interesting about this number 1 not only these three pages long printed so I cannot read the whole thing but it will be posted to my blog at chris.pirillio.com corresponding to this video from youtube. This was compiled with the help of TJ, DasFamiliar, kb9wec, and Kentucky wildcat is that your storm chaser code, it that hums radio code TJ, DasFamiliar is kb9wec and Kentucky wildcat is wx4svr call signs, okay. I just realize, I thought, we got so many crazy chat room names I thought that was someone handles for a second. Now it makes sense.
I am still lot of tornados and despite meddling, friends with you guys. I would not ever want to do storm chasing it would just, I could not do it, and I will freak out. I could not do it. Okay, so here we go the top 7 list of severe weather tips and by the way you can tell we have weather bug it is a partner sponsor. They have got, this is, when you see this number in my video that is the current temperature in Seattle and right now it is over cast and cool. No tornados in Seattle the number one reason to move here, number one. As March 20 of 2008, according to the Storm Prediction Center there are been at least
464 reports of UFO’s no of tornadoes for this year alone and the season has only yet to begin. Many people, including geeks, never give weather a second thought in their daily lives going on about their business. It only takes a seconds for skies to darken in sirens to blare and warning is being issued before many realize the world around them is about to become a very dangerous. Even as connected as geeks are, geeks it can also caught off guard by nature’s fury. As storm season begins you after the active, as active is already has been severe weather can occurred in any place and time. So we Dasfamiliar, Kentucky wild cat, and TJ decided to make this top you said five lists but he extended it to 7 because he could not stop, top 5 lists preparing for severe weather.
1. Make sure you have a NOAA Weather Radio with S.A.M.E technology. These radios are life savers, especially if you live in an area prone to severe weather at night. These radios contain loud alarms that can even wake you up from the next room. With one of these radios, you can set it to sound for only counties you want to be warned for avoiding the false alarms when severe weather is occurring in another county near by. The greatest thing about these radios is that they do not just warn you of severe storms. They can warn you of tornadoes, hurricanes, severe storms, civil defense emergencies, earthquakes, and much more. Weather radios are cheap these days and can be found at any retail store.
2. Know the difference between a watch and a warning. This is one of the most common mistakes people make during severe weather. People often tend to think that a watch is far worse than a warning which it is not. It is the other way around. A watch merely means that conditions are favorable for the development of severe weather. These are often issued about 3-4 hours ahead of the projected time the severe weather is expected to occur. This is the time when you should be taking a time to prepare yourself and family and have your safety plan in place. Be ready to take of action if the warning is issue. A warning is issued 20-25 minutes before the severe weather is expected to impact the warned area but sometimes you know even less time in that in many factors that go into these by the way and they detailed more in the full tips list.
3. Know the basic rules that could save your life. First things first, “do not panic”. Panic the worst and last thing you could ever do during severe weather. Once a warning is issued, sirens blare, and the TV goes off. “Do not ignore it”. This is the time to put your safety plan into action. The safety plan should consist of an immediate safe place where you and your family can seek shelter during a storm. There are many a nights growing up in the middle of the nights you will hear the sirens and we head to the basement. Rather underneath the basement stairs I, that. He also goes on to note you know if it is very, very severe he says for they say repeat, never. I repeat never be in a vehicle or mobile home during a tornado warning. Oh, that is so true. Most deaths from tornadoes occur in Mobile Homes. If a tornado warning is put into effect and you are on the road, get out and take cover in a ditch if no other substantial structure is available. Leave you mobile homes!
