You are going to sure smell moisture down in this basement.
Moisture comes in a form of a real musty odor and if you have that in a crawl space or a basement like we have here, it means there are moisture wicking up through the concrete, through the walls and venting in to the basement giving you that real musty clammy odor.
And you want to get rid of that because that relevant humidity, that is the moisture make your furnace system just work that much harder or your electrical heating system not much harder because you are going to heat the moisture before you get the home up to that comfort level.
Now, how do you get rid of the moisture?
Well, I am going to install a humidex system.
As you can see it is a 8 foot high, has a vent in the bottom were the cold moist air goes in as drowning up through the unit and around the back I will show you were it is exhausted to the outside.
Now I am all ready to put the outside wall cup in place. Take my measurements, and install the wall cup which will go to the outside of the hoe allowing the air to be exhausted to the outside.
So, I will drill a hole now.

Now, we got the hole prepared and we got the duck already to receive the outside wall cup but I have chose not to use this one here. The reason why as the condensation moisture comes out of the wall cup, it could stain the stock hole. So I am going to with the flash mouth unit, allowing the air to go direct in the atmosphere and dissipate.
Now, I am going to put a couple of bids of cocking on the back. This will allow the unit to be nice and tight against the stock hole.
And then we put four screws to hold it in place. This is a speed control. You have minimum, maximum and I have not set it maximum now because we want to vent that moisture air to hear us quick as we can and a short of time as possible because we want to get rid of that moisture as fast as possible.
Now this is a basement application. You may want a vent a crawl space. Same type of equipment but a little bit shorter in length. That gets rid of all that moisture, that costly moisture in that basement application.
So let us get it outside through the humidex system.
