As we add or remove or upgrade a file, usually something is always left behind and that would be like a—file.
So, if you do that a lot, it will just be stabling your system so we want to clean that. And to do that is open your Synaptic Package Manager and you see like this. And what you want to do is go down here where it says Status and click on that. And they give you some new options over here on the side. Now, we’re going to focus on this disc where it says Not Installed (residual config), that’s what we want to do, click on that.
And over here, you can see a list of old files that I have right in my system that I don’t really need anymore, like this Virtual box. I know it’s all because this is 1.6 and I’m using a 2.0. So, I don’t actually need any of these files anymore. So, I’m just going to select all. And I’m going to mark for complete removal. I want to delete it all. So, it’s marked.
Now, I just got to apply it up here and yes confirm the apply bitch and that’s it. That’s how you clean those out.
