Depotting tutorial using a candle.
Hi bellas! It is RenRen. I decided to go out and do a depotting tutorial with the new eyeshadow I got for many years. I am just going to go ahead and use contrast eyeshadow and I know there has been a lot of tutorial on it but I want to show you how I do it and I do it using candle method.
So this is great, as you guys might know there is back to MAC and if you return six empty cases like eyeshadow, lip glosses, compacts whatever like a plastic case that use to hold makeup. If you return six of them you therefore use the lip products some places doing eyeshadow and you go ahead and you do eyeshadows. You try to just get the pan and you stick in the palette and I do that on all my eyeshadow so it will take a minute.
So what you will need is the eyeshadow you are going to depot, pair of tweezers, kitchen knife or you just can use the screw or a pair of knife, just a knife. Empty palette, this is my purple palette. You will need candle and something to get a flame started and I will just use one of these kitchen flame things or you just cook it and flame comes out. So let us get started.
What you are going to do is remove the tray from the pot and if you will look here at the end, there are a little index, not a tray it will stick your knife and if you just kind of do it like this, you can just easily pop it out. That is pretty much easiest part, so this is the eyeshadow in the pan and we are going to remove it from the black plastic. You will hold on to this because this is where you are going to return your MAC and we are going to get the sticker off later on. So now what you are going to do is light a candle, and I see a bunch of tutorials on depot, some people use their flatiron, some people would use blow drier, sometimes if you do not use heat, they just like place double anchor. Use some pliers to peel it away. I like this way because it is the quickest and the fastest and the easiest for me and I am not patient so I just want to get it out and stick on the palette and go.
So here is the candle, and I want to take my tweezers and hold on the pan. Like holding it right above the flame and monitoring it. And the bottom, we will start to melt a little bit just right in the middle start to bubble. And what you are going to do is try to get melt it enough so that it catches on fire burn all the way through good so that the middle look soft enough for you to push through that pan pop. So I am melting it, you kind of see the pan going through a little bit and that what it looks like melted.
Okay so here is the melted pan, now be careful because it is hot. I use this protected tweezers and push down, and see if the plastic is melted so the pan pops out. Be careful, do not to touch the edges because it is really hot and am I just like kind of pop it out just like so. Be careful, it is super hot. So here is the pan with the melted glue. And what you are going to do is I forgot to mention this but you will need a magnet with an adhesive side. So what I just do is take the edge of the melted glue and I take my magnet. This is a square magnet that comes in a pack from a craft store and I just stick the non stick pad at the center onto pan. Okay, careful to touch. So, there you go and now it is on the pan do you see that? And what are you going to do now is take this your eyeshadow pot and you are going to take the label on and you do the same way. So what you are going to do is you hold this over. Again try not to burn the paper. We are just trying to melt the glue underneath the sticker. And you will notice that it is working when the edge start to peel off and there is like a little bubble forms underneath the paper. Again, be careful not to burn the paper because the paper burn would not work. See you can the edge is starting to peel off on the side, that is the good sign. And I think that should be good.
So now what you are going to do is use your tweezers again and you are going to stick it between the gap. See that paper that got lifted up and just peel it away and the glue melted enough so that it comes off easily. And see how it is nice and so intact and it is not at all like crazy looking like you try script it away with your nail. So you are going to take that and stick on the back of the pan. This pan has a magnet on the sticky side, so just remove the paper and stick this right on top and try to send that in.
So here it is. There is the back and this is the front and it is okay magnet will stick out just little bit, the corners. You can cut that off but it still has friction to the pan. So I am just going ahead and stick it in to the empty palette. Stick it right here, it goes right in, see!
So there is my depotting tutorial and make sure that you will just do this with well ventilated area. You have burning plastic. I hope this tutorial helped you guys. So subscribe to my YouTube page and check out on my blog at www.MakeupByRenRen.blogspot.com and I hope you enjoy it! Ciao bellas!
