I don’t know what the hell this is but I want to fix it. Ok, yes, so you’re just going here with your brush tool, set the black and you can get rid of all the shit you don’t want. So, it’s pretty spiffy. I’ll try reversing this. Just edit transform click horizontal, and that’s pretty cool. So, I’m going to do an adjustment layer just to this sky background by hitting Alt and going to levels, and click use previous layer to create clipping mask and that is creating a levels layer that’s linked only to your sky layer. That’s pretty handy. And we’re going to go and just increase the contrast here. That’s looking pretty creepy.
Now I’m going to add another adjustment layer, and hitting Alt, it will only affect this one layer, layer 1. Click use previous layer to create clipping mask. Go to hue saturation, I’m going to bring the saturation down a little bit, because that’s like way too blue. And all right, that’s looking pretty creepy. We’ll just fix some of these gray edges, two on one, three on one. No just kidding. There you go.
All right, so now I’m going to go ahead and I had also a layer mask to my house, my house, yes. See, I wish I own this house, how cool would that be, I own the American Gothic house. Let’s darken that up. Ok, that’s starting to look pretty dark, and dingy. Kid ok? And I’m going to add a hue saturation to this layer as well, use previous layer, I want to go to my greens and bring down the saturation on there, and maybe the yellows. So we just want that to all look dead. And I’m going to add another adjustment layer to the whole thing, all right that’s just way too gay, that’s way too gay for me. I’m going to listen to some vast.
All right, so I’m going to go ahead and add one adjustment layer which is just going to be a solid color. And I want to make it a deep blue. Set it for a color blend mode, by the way your blend modes are right up here. So, when you’re set to normal obviously you just have a completely blue layer, if you switch that to color, it just blends all that blue into your background. I don’t want quite that much so I’m going to bring the opacity down to say right around there. Maybe a little bit deeper blue. I want it to look sick. All right, so that’s starting to look pretty sick. Let’s go ahead and save this. By the way, you can just hit control S, and it saves anything that you want.
Ok, so what I want to do now is bring in some creepy trees, some photos, most of these again are from iStock photo, which I highly recommend, iStockphoto.com. They are the cheese net, and this one’s actually pretty damn cool. I’ll start with this one. And just drag that right into the other document. That’s kind of cool, let’s size it down just a little bit. And let’s go ahead and edit, transform, flip horizontal, that way we get a little bit more creepiness. So, that’s looking pretty good. I’m going to go ahead and change that to hard light. I’m going to bring the hue saturation down. Actually, just the saturation, so that it matches the background. And create a layer mask, and change your brush just to a standard brush. And just go ahead and paint out some of this.
And I’m going to go Alt create and adjustment layer, and go to levels, use previous layer, and I want to try to match this up a little bit better. So, I’m just trying to match it up better with the actual background, without losing detail of the tree itself. So I think it’s about as close as we’re going to get. Set your brush down to maybe, say 28-30%. Change the hardness to maybe about 50%. Let’s crank this up a little bit. And just get in there and blend it. Decrease it down to maybe 10% now that we’re getting into the fine details. And just blend it a little bit better. Now almost rotate this up a little bit, because it’s really crooked right now, so maybe something like that. And we got a little edge peeking out, just get rid of that.
