And that is looking pretty good my friend. And we can probably throw in a few more of these. Let’s go ahead and grab these as well. Scale it down a bit, and hit apply. And play around with your blend modes. All right, and I think color burn looks pretty good. Add a layer mask, and kind of compare with or without it, and see what we want to get rid of here. I like this sky over here, definitely want to get rid of most of this. So change your opacity to a 100% and on your layer mask just go ahead and paint most of that out, it’s kind of cool, you got like a church stipple on the background. I think that’s a bit much. And bring your brush size down to get into the little crevices here. If you fuck up, just hit control Z. This is just your artistic discretion, what you want to keep and what you want to delete. So, some kind of like that, maybe bring the opacity down a little bit. That way the clouds almost look like fog going over the trees, it’s kind of cool. All right, ok, I think I’m going to scale all these trees down even a little bit more, and make them so they’re not quite so centered. So I’m just going to throw them around there, something kind of like that. Ok, not even sure if I like these or not. We can make that decision later, for the time being I’m leaving them in.
So, moving right along, I’m going to go ahead and add a new layer, and fill it with black. I’m going to go to filter, Mr. Retro, I’m going to choose Machine Wash vol. 1, by the way you can find these at Mr. Retro.com. And there are some really cool filters for just creating trashed up, distressed looks. And not finding exactly what I want, I’m going to go to Mr. Retro Machine Washed 2, and calcium actually is what I was looking for. So, let’s change the cycle to on, base color is going to be a very dark color.
Highlight, I want to keep in the blue range since everything else is blue, maybe a little bit darker. And I think that’s decent, I’m going to hit ok, that fills us with that layer, and I’m going to just change the blend modes, until I get something I like. So I’m going to set that for soft light, and it just gives us kind of a little bit of a grainy texture and makes the house look a little bit older. Add a layer mask. And just kind of paint out some of the sky, because we don’t want quite so much texture on the sky. Now on this tree layer back here, I’m seeing still kind of a border around that which I’m not liking, so I’m just going to go in it like, maybe 18%. Paint that out a little bit better. Ok, my Mr. Retro layer just bring down the opacity till you’re happy with it maybe 75%, I’m going to duplicate that layer, get rid of the layer mask. And I’m going to set that for overlay, and maybe something like 28%, and hit control S to save it.
So that’s a good start, I can still do a little bit more to this, and I will, but we’ll go into that in future additions of this tutorial. We’re also going to add the models in next, which will be very exciting.
