Better still. A RIGHT HAND DOOR opens IN or OUT, AND when the HANDLE is positioned on the RIGHT HAND SIDE when you are facing the door. A LEFT HAND DOOR has the opposite characteristic.

To clarify, A right hand door OPENS by a pull action of the right hand, AND when the handle is positioned on the RIGHT HAND SIDE. You DO NOT open a right hand door with a PUSH action.

When working on home remodeling project that requires a brand new door, it is important to know whether it is a right hand door or a left hand door because that is how the doors are sold. To determine if the door is left hand or right hand door, stand in front of the door. And with the hand, it is necessary to pull the door open towards you. It determines if it is a left or right hand door. This door in particular is a left hand door because I have to use my left hand to pull it open. You will notice also the doorknob is on the left hand side. For right hand door, again, you will see with my right hand I have to pull the door open to me. Hi I am Mark Donovan from HomeAdditionPlus.com and today, I am going to talk to you about how to determine the swing or hand of a door.

When working on home remodeling project that requires a brand new door, it is important to know whether it is a right hand door or a left hand door because that is how the doors are sold. To determine if the door is left hand or right hand door, stand in front of the door. And with the hand, it is necessary to pull the door open towards you. It determines if it is a left or right hand door. This door in particular is a left hand door because I have to use my left hand to pull it open. You will notice also the doorknob is on the left hand side.

For right hand door, again, you will see with my right hand I have to pull the door open to me. So that is it when determining whether or not you have a right hand or a left hand, or right swing or left swing door.
