Alright, this week, we are going to talk about where the Rhododendron and diseases and what I am talking today is specifically about ordered Rhododendron necessarily although, that is what I want to focus on, it really goes to all plant diseases. And one of the things that might be happen in your own yard is that you notice plants are beginning to fail, leaves curling plants dying, turning brown, all sorts of weird things happening. One of the things that you want to check for if you think your plants might have diseases, let us be first sure that you are not over under the watering. I have got this rapid test many PH water meter, you really stick this in the ground and it gives you a reading and you want to do that in a few different places to be sure that whatever you think is going on is not just in one spot. Once you have ruled out the water, then you can start looking at other things for example, is it too wet?
Are you getting root rat? Are you getting a fungus? Are you getting a virus? There are actually funguses, viruses and bacteria that all can attack the plant. And what you really want to do is bring in pieces up the bringing leaves, bring in branches to a local nursery and have them really look at it or the other alternative is to get a really good book on plant diseases and so they begin to diagnose your plant that way. So then you could use things like serenade or soap healed for fungus. Once you figure out exactly what is going on with the plant, you could treated appropriately and just like you would if you went to a doctor, he is going to roll things out and he is going to eventually figure out what is going on, same thing with your plants. One of the things going on in my own garden this year is that I got problem of root rat in my Rhododendron.
And the way I found that out was that my Rhododendron would dropping, they were not looking that good, I literally at the pull one out, I look at the roots and what you want to see are great healthy roots that have a little bit of white to them. This has none of that, the roots are all brown, it means that they are not transporting anything into the plant, the plant just cannot leave because it is not getting basically any food so I went and I head to find the product that is going to treat that I am using Monterey Aliette and this particular product actually says a controls downy mildew, phytophthora and pythium in turf and ornamentals. So you really want to treat your particular situation carefully by finding the product that will leave the cure or prevent what you believe is going on. I hope this is all helping you here at growingwisdom.com. Come back every week for more of our tips.
