Hey YouTube, iPodTouch 2G Geek here and in this video, I am going to show you how you can disable that pesky little AutoCorrect that Apple has put into their iPhones and iPod touches.
All right, so now to do this, you’re going to need a Jailbroken iPod touch or iPhone. So, when it’s Jailbroken, you can go ahead and open up Cydia. Now, once Cydia is open, go into Manage and Sources.
And you will need to be adding a repository or a source. And it is this one, hackers.nl. Now, I’ll put this in the video description but just in case you want to hear it, it is http://apt.hackers.nl, all right. So, you can go ahead and add that.
Once that is added in, go into Search and then just type in AutoCorrect. It seems my iPod is buzzing out here. All right, so type in AutoCorrect. And then go down to these. And then you will see a file called Disables Keyboard AutoCorrect from hackers.nl.
You can go ahead and select it. And then go ahead and select install over here. And then confirm. It will ask you to restart your SpringBoard. Once you restart your SpringBoard, you will be back at your home screen.
And let’s just see how this works out. So, let’s open up Safari. And open up Google. And now, let’s just type in some random stuff. And there you go, no AutoCorrect. Now, I know that when you try to type in the application called the Cro-Mag Rally, it automatically corrects it to C-E-O Mag Rally. So, let’s go ahead and try that. Oops, exit that and then C-R-O-Mag. There you go. It does not correct anymore.
Now, if you do want to get the AutoCorrect back, all you have to do is go back into Cydia. And then go into Manage, Packages. And then go down to the Ds. And then you should see Disables Keyboard AutoCorrect. Go ahead and select it. You are going to click Modify or select Modify then you are going to select Remove and then confirm.
