How to Disable SMS Preview in iPhone What’s up everyone? This is Ryan with UniqueApps.com, I’ve got another iPhone, a little tip or trick for you today. And this tip is going to cover text messages or SMS. And now, most of you know that on an iPhone, whenever you get a text message, it immediately shows up on your screen. Whoever’s using your phone can read that sex message that instant so what I’m going to do is I’m going to show you again, most of you’re familiar with but I’m sending a text message to me offline from another and just going to show you. So let’s say I’m scrolling through my iPhone, as soon as I get the text message, it pops up and then again this is again from me, it says, “Hey dude”. Now, let’s just say that you did something you didn’t want to the night before or you got into this trouble or whatever and your friend text messaged you. Let’s say your parents are looking at your phone or you boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, whoever, you don’t want them to see that text message right there. So I want to show you actually how you can hide that. Now, you got to go on to your settings and click on settings right here and you got to go down to your message and I apologize for the brightness but you go down to your messages, click messages. In the show preview go ahead and click that off. Now, let me show you what that does, I’m going to go back to my home screen and let me go back to my other phone really quick and now I’m typing another message, oops. Typing another message to myself offline or I’m just going to write “Hey” before I could type on this. Okay, the message is typed, now when I’m scrolling my thing, remember I have the preview off, so now when I hit send I want to show you what happens on this end. So once a text message gets to you whenever there it is, it says Ryan Wade, it says. Text Message. They have to click to view this or close this. So again, you still I mean, you still can view this immediately from here, so again those are the 2 text messages that I just sent, “Hey dude” and “Hey”. But the cool this is, is it gives you, it doesn’t go out and just say it. So again if your friend’s text messaged your phone or if your phones locked, let me show you that one more time. If your phone’s locked, again sorry I’m taking a while, it’s an iPhone right here. It takes a little while to type this message and just jump really quick. But if your phone’s locked and let’s says it’s sitting on the counter or something, in the kitchen and you get a new text message now, it will say Text Message; it won’t say the actual message. So really good tip especially if you're expecting, you get a text message that you don’t want anybody to see, turn the message preview off. If you're not worried about it, leave the message preview on but I recommend for again, let’s say you went out partying the night before or whatever the case may be, turn your preview off.
