Vista tip # 2:
Speed up Vista by disabling Visual Styles
Click Start. Right click on “Computer” and go to “Properties”

Click on the “System Protection” option on the left hand menu

Choose the “Advance” tab and click “Settings” under Performance.

Under Visual Effects, select “Adjust for best performance”

Click the OK buttons and exit out of all the windows.

Right-click on the Side Bar and select “Properties”

Uncheck “Start Sidebar when Windows starts” and click OK.
