This is a horrible disarm technique. U.S. military techniques keep the gun pointing away from your body while turning the gun. You are also supposed to step to your left in that situation, grab the slide and turn the opposite way while holding their wrist in place. This will allow you to either break their trigger finger (resorting in a possible discharge of the weapon, or disable the attacker with a blow to the larynx or other vulnerable area.

This is the stupidest possible way to disarm someone. Think about it. Do you really want to smack someone's hand while they have a gun pointed in your face with there finger on the trigger.

Thank you. Simple and practical. Commensurate with the times that we live in. Different styles of martial arts training has made me conclude that they were appropriate to a different era.

What I am going to do is grab, I am going to grab the entire slide with this hand, open this up a real big. I am going to break the strength of your wrist, alright. This hand is hitting, if you imagine a clock, 12, 3, 6, 9. This hand is hitting a 12, right here, and as you are continuing around the clock back to 12. This one, say, is the 6, is where you can continue around the clock, back to 6. But I mean that's the whole take with this one and that's right in position.
