Mike: Well obviously businesses use the internet to do business and more and more are using videos now to get their message out about their products and services. Today we got Kevin Lao, an online video expert to teach us how to get our videos marketed out in the internet in a more effective way. Thanks coming on the show.
Kevin: Thanks for having me.
Mike: So we created a video. Obviously we think, let’s just post this in YouTube and hopefully a bunch of people will watch it. But that’s not always the case.
Kevin: Most often the case is, post it on YouTube, it’s not going to get seen. Because due to the one site after all. So what TubeMogul does is it lets you upload and distribute your video to over 20 different video sharing sites with just one click. And if you ever worked with online video before you know that’s a huge time saver.
Mike: And TubeMogul is the website, and is that TubeMogul.com?

Mike: And is there a charge for this?
Kevin: There's three versions. One, there's the free version. And there's two paid versions.
Mike: Okay.
Kevin: With the free version, you’ll get 100 video programs a month. So for about average business, it’s going to be more than enough.
Mike: So you’ll going to put a title and description in for each video.
Kevin: Yup. So after you’ve done that. Pick a category. Press upload. It also posts in Twitter, Facebook.
Mike: So this is all the social networking sites, not all of them, but this shows here.
Kevin: Well Twitter and Facebook.
Mike: And so, for this other ones that were looking at, Yahoo and Blip.tv. We have to have account set up for each one.
Kevin: Yes, you got to set up an account with each one of them first and then just punch in the credentials here.
Mike: So it’s a little bit of work to get it up and going because you got to set up those account. But it will basically tell you which site it could possibly upload and you set up the accounts. And then from that point forward, it just spreads them out automatically.
Kevin: That’s exactly what it does.
Mike: And what kind of reporting can we get from this? Do we have to go to each individual site to find out how many plays were getting?
Kevin: That’s actually one of the best things about TubeMogul is you get all the aggregated data in to one dashboard.
Mike: So this will obviously save a truck load of time, because in the past and we do that a lot on our video, we have to go to each individual site exactly.
Kevin: And even if you went to each individual one, a lot of them don’t actually offer the data. And here you can see a chart of where people are viewing your video. Once you get more videos up, you can also slow down the video analytics by publisher. So that’s your channel on a specific website.
Mike: Oh, I see. And again it will show you how many people have been viewing and how long have they’ve been viewing it. I guess this could help you kind of crop your content as well. You could see, if you like created a three minute video but people are tuning out after 20 seconds, you're doing something wrong if you're making that video.
Kevin: Exactly.
Mike: What if I want to know where they're coming from, like where are they watching it from?
