Katherine: Today's exercise is side leg series using the Pilates ring. I must call it something else, this is a ring. Alright so, we'll have her lie on her side and you want pretty much of right angle between the femur and the torso. We're going to place the ring in two positions, you can either place it between, and we're going to work the inner and outer thighs.
Now, we're relatively tall, so we can actually get it between the knees some people aren't going to be able to, so you could also put it here between the ankles. If you place it between the ankles, you just have to be careful that the top leg doesn't internally rotate, so your knees are not applying to the ground. So, think if just pressing down and then even applying here as supposed moving front of the hip. Already then, so working on inner thighs first, inhale prepare, exhale squeeze a the little ring and inhale released it.
Obviously, you don't want to release all the way or the ring will fall. Exhale press down and release, nothing in the torso changes, you're nice and stable in the ribcage, in the spine and release. We'll just do one more like this exhale pressing down, and now to work the outer thighs, we need to change the leg position. So, you can take the ring just feet both legs through the ring, its nice when you have one of the rings that have the cushions on either side because it's a lot more comfortable. From here exhale, it's you're pulling of our, it's like you're trying to pull the ring into like you're trying to open your legs, which you don't get very far, and then release. So, the range of motion isn't very big here, but you still feel a quite a bit here touching. Yes, let's do two more, exhale reach away and notice she is laterally rotating her leg, it's staying nice and parallel exhale and inhale release, and then obviously you would do the other side as well and that is side leg series using the Pilates ring.
