Submissions 101. The Bolt Lock. The bolt lock is used when you are going for triangle choke and your partner is defending. What the bolt lock will do is, it will put pressure on the shoulder and the neck area.
So I go for triangle and push. I am going forward and he reaches back to defend by grabbing the inside of his leg. So it's too much space here, I can't get the triangle. So what I will do is I place my hand on his head and I will shift. Notice how my body is shifted 45 degrees, grab on and I locked in.
From here, grab on to his head, grab on the knee, and then I squeeze my knees together for the submission. So again, pushing through, going for the triangle, he defends. So I place my hand here and push, it's very important to take your heel and place it as close as to his neck as possible and hook in, you will notice that this doesn't have to be as locking his thigh, as normal triangle.
So it doesn't have to be like this, but if it is, it is tighter, then reach on his head. I am placing the inside of my forearm against his head, grabbing on my knee, and now I squeeze my knees together for this submission. The Bolt Lock.
