Submissions 101: How to defend the stack when you have someone in your rubber guard, it is called the drop kick. So I have my partner up here, Zommy (ph). Now one of the ways to construct a rubber guard is stacking. A lot of people will stack either just out of habit, or they just think well, if I can just compress my partner enough, and then let go.
So he stacks and stands up here and I try to hold on, it could be futile just trying to hold on the rubber guard. So what I am going to do is a drop kick which is basically I am going to let go here and my legs are going to come on his hips, as you see, both of my feet are on his hips. From there, I am grabbing on to his head and I am grabbing on to his arm and really holding him kind of locking him back. As I do that, I'd extend my legs and I flip him over.
Now you need more matching when you are doing the drop kick or else it won't really work. So here, up, Zommy, he goes for the stack, up, foot on the hip, pull him up, and roll over in the mounted position. We'll do it one more time actually from here. So one, okay, mission control, Zommy, New York. I am in New York, he is stacking me, he is really trying to compress, I'll let go, hip, head control, arm control and rock back to the mounted position.
So that is one way on how to deal with the stack when you have someone in your rubber guard.
