Submissions101. We are going to do a head lock escape from a wrestler's head lock which is when you bury down and you hold him quite tight. This is called the sit and roll technique.
Now when Dan has me in the head lock, notice, he is down further, he is tucking his head and chin so, I can't get in towards his face. This also works, if you have very short arms and your partner is taller than you, you might have trouble, I thought couple of people emailed me and said, I have been in a head lock and I can't reach around, because my partner is too big. Well, this is a way to get out of it, if you have short arms.
He is down, I have him here, and you'll notice that I am going to place my foot and block his outside leg. My other hand, is going to reach underneath his knee. This is really important; you'll see in a moment. So I am here, and I'll reach and I am going to sit back with him and he is going to fall on my leg. So we are down, I remove my hand and take it, I put it in his eyes, I push and up.
So remember, this is all self defense stuff. This is not grappling, that's why my fingers are driving into his face, into his eyes to have him release. So again, go a little faster, forward. So here, dig in, push, coming up. So this works very, very well. Again, if your partner is larger than you, you really have to lift up that leg as you are falling. So this and notice, I am lifting it towards the sky. Sit and roll head lock escape.
