How to Do the Proper Posture of Latin Dance

So, I am going to talk to about basic techniques in Latin dance that all dancers need to know. Not just beginners but intermediate and advance dancers as well. We are going to talk about posture, foot positioning, arms, knees and eye contact.

Posture is one of the most important things in dancing. We all have very bad habit in our everyday life on how we carry our body. A lot of us have a tendency to stick our neck forward too much or head forward or we throw out our back and arch our back a little bit too much and we hunch our shoulders.

The minute that we stepped on to the dance floor, we have to pay attention to how we realign our body. So, the first thing we want to do is stand taller straight through the head so we stand completely as if there is a rod going through the center of our body. The second thing we want to think about is our back. A lot of us have a tendency to throw out our back like this. So what we want to do is tuck it in and bring in our pelvis which creates a better alignment. Then the third thing we want to do is stand a little bit taller in our chest here. Sometimes, we have a tendency to hunch like this but what we want to do is roll our shoulders back and stand proud. This is a good way to begin.
