Hello and welcome to this tutorial from AdobeNicNacs.tk and this tutorial is going to be the first in the series of many tutorials about Scratch.
Now Scratch is a free open tools program generally used for making games and in this tutorial I’m just going to focus on downloading and installing. Okay, first of all to download it, you need to the website which is http://scratch.net.edu/ then, click this little button here which picture of the scratch logo and I t says download now. You just click this and then you come into this information and I should is just type on to find it out and it’s only fair because you’re using their program but I’m not going to because I’ve already downloaded it before.
Now you need to choose whether you own Mac OSX or Windows, now there is going to be Linux version but it’s not out yet, the official one I think they’ve made a date of release, I'm not sure. But choose which one you want, I’m going for the Windows version and it should start downloading and I’m in Google Chrome the beta version so I’m just going to save that. And this will download, it’s an executable file. You then just run the executable file and you follow the installation setup and you install Scratch and I’m just going to delete this because I’m no longer going to be needing this. Okay, I’ll just leave that to continue, once that’s done, if you just open up Scratch and you downloaded it/ Scratch is downloaded and installed. And the version I’m going to use for my tutorials is Scratch1.3, you can see that it show up here and this one is released September 2, 2008.
A new one comes out usually about once a year, I think and yes so that’s how to download and install it. In my next tutorial I’ll be going over how to use this application beginning in it and then after that I will take you through how to make some basic games and even get into some more advanced gaming including some physics and some very advanced math. Well, not very advanced but some advanced math as opposed to just some simple edition.
So thank you for watching, I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and I hope you will be checking out the next the series. Thanks for watching.
