Welcome back and let’s take just a minute to talk about cold weather clothing systems. Now, what works for me may not work for you, so I’m living in East Texas. The cold that’s going to get here and stay around as maybe in the 20s blow all, made deep rarely deep down in the single digits. Right now, it’s about I don’t know low 50s up to 40s as the sun goes down. It’s going to be getting colder.
I’m here ready to go out one of dear stands so I wanted to show you all my cold weather set up a part of it anyway. One thing I like is a double layer parka or double layer coat jacket. It’s got the inside liner that can be taken out and worn as a light jacket. It’s got a water repellant outside with the hood.
Let’s talk about the hood just for a second. This hood, zip zone. Now there’s a zipper right here. I do not like the jacket where the hood button is out. Now, the reason being is that I’ve got a jacket where the hood button’s on and whenever you walk into a dense brush some up head the brush take the hood and unsnap it and just pull it right off the jacket.
So, whenever you’re looking for it to crawl like cold weather jacket I suggest one with a zipper. I want it instead of snaps and also another reason is that the cold air, the zipper seals it. There are no openings in here. If you have one that buttons it allows cold air to get in between the hood and the jacket, so you’re going to get better installation with one that zips instead of one of that buttons.
Alright, now the next thing is gloves. I am not a big fan of the heavy duty or the real heavy gloves. I like the near framed gloves with the rubberized palm camouflaged and these are also semi-water proof so if I’m out of the rain they help keep my hands warm and dry.
Now, hang on just a second. My gloves are also a dual layer system. I have a light pair of gloves here. Now, I will put them on. Now this just if it’s too cold for my single glove. I’ll put my light glove on and I’ll take my rubberize glove. It’s a little tight, but there we go.
Now, most of you should know that layering your clothing is warmer than having one heavy jacket or one heavy parka like I’m wearing two shirts right now. The same thing with my gloves is that I’m trying t0 layer the warmth, one glove on the inside and then the rubberized on the outside.
Alright, and I’ll keep these gloves and also if it’s not too cold if I need just something to help keep my fingers from getting numb then I can wear these. Now, keep this in a separate packet and then I’ll keep my rubberized gloves. Keep your pouch just zip on your jacket, keep on back of. Now, with this, it took me the longest time to find some top at cold weather head gear that I like something that was versatile. Now, the reason why I say versatile is I wanted something with the hood but also with a top of face masks but I wanted it versatile enough so I can pull it.
Alright, I’ll show you okay, now what happens is that you want something over your nose and your mouth. This helps heat the air up as it’s going into your body. It helps keep you warm, but also I wanted something that I can pull over the head then if it is not too cold something I can just wear around the neck. It helps keep my neck warm and if it’s a little bit chilly I can pull up over the nose.
Now, the way that this works is merely telling about the layering system. You have your parka or your jacket. Bring this up over your nose, just over your head, bring your hood up and there.
Now, I’m good for a lot of different types of weather. The water repellant outside of the hood so there we are. Well, I’ve got to get out to the dear stand. Somehow it’s that time again. I will be right back with you.
