Hi! I am Susun Weed, and here we are with the bountiful harvest that we have brought in, in the past couple of days here in the beautiful Catskill Mountains. This is some nettle that we harvested a couple of weeks ago, which is drying, we are taking it down. We harvested mullein yesterday and we hung those individual stalks to dry. And today we went out and harvested comfrey and the comfrey is drying.
Here are our big baskets of the linden flowers that we harvested, and we are just drying that linden. The linden has a very little protein in it, so it dries really well. You cannot add a rock to my basket, Monica Jean; that was an awfully big rock to put in with the linden.
But the nettle and the comfrey are very protein rich, and so they need to be kept separate as they dry. You will see some of it is grouped together; as it gets half dry we group it together in order to have more room for drying in our space.
We also harvested a lot of red clover today, and that's drying in screens in another area.
There are so many green blessings around us, so many wild plants for food and for medicine.
This is Susun Weed, wishing you Green Blessings.
