I see her on the TODAY SHOW a lot - I made this salad and could not beleive how easy and yummy it was. Those packaged salads really taste great and make it easy to throw together a healthy meal!

Elizabeth Somer: Hi, I am Elizabeth Somer and today I am making lunch for some friends to support American heart month. Heart disease is the number one killer of women but you can lower your risk and take a bite out of the yard starting right now. When it comes to lowering your risk of heart disease what you eat is a big factor. It's essential to watch fat and calories to maintain a healthy weight and to focus on fiber which has been proven to help lower cholesterol. Try to eat instead heart healthy foods today and every day. This delicious three bean salad was simple to make using convenient and luetin-rich Fresh Express Baby Spinach. I added some low fat protein and fiber from canned kidney, garbanzo and soy beans. Even more fiber comes from the fresh cut broccoli and cauliflower and the ribbons of carrot. Then just toast with a bottled fat-free vinaigrette dressing. As it turns out, many heart healthy foods are red including apples and grapes. So for dessert, I make a quick and easy fruit salad with honey yogurt sauce using Chiquita Bites. Convenient packages of natural fruit and vegetable would make a great heart healthy snack any time. Remember even small changes can make a big difference. Taking action now can mean a longer healthier life for you and those you love.
