You can find a greener way to clean just about everything in your home. Here are some examples of natural cleaners and how to use them. Borax is a natural mineral that kills germs. It’s great as a kitchen cleaner and in your laundry detergent to brighten and soften your white. You can buy it in drug store, supermarkets and online.
Baking soda is a mild abrasive and wonder cleaner. Use it as you would anything cleaning powder. Here are some suggestions. Wipe your fridge inside and out with the solution of three tablespoons of baking soda, dissolved in half cup warm water. Soak dirty pots and pans in hot water with two or three tablespoons of baking soda for about an hour then scrub them clean. Dirty tub tiles, add just enough water to baking soda to turn it into a thick paste. Use an old toothbrush for cleaning for the grout between tiles. Pour a half cup baking soda down your kitchen or bathroom drain. Follow it with the half cup vinegar and then some boiling water. This combination breaks down fatty acids that block drains and helped keep drain smelling fresh.
Speaking of vinegar, it clears away grease and deodorizes. If you have hard water, use regular distilled white vinegar to clean lime scale of bathtubs, sinks and even shower heads. Remove your shower head and silk it in vinegar for a half hour or so and then brush off the built up lime scale with an old toothbrush. Spray a mixture of equal parts vinegar and water on glass and meres and wipe them down with black and white pages of your newspaper. Use a mixture of lemon juice and olive oil and instead of furniture polish.
Soda water helps remove carpet stains especially wet wine and coffee. Simply dribble some on and dub the stains away. Lemon juice gets rid of lime scale on bathroom fixtures, bottled lemon juice works well. If the stains are stubborn, soak a rug with lemon juice and wrap it around the fixture for a few minutes. Experiment with the proportions of these natural cleaners. When you find a mixture that works for you, make up a batch, put it into an empty jar bottle, label and use it in the future.
