Let's move over to O4 Edit with Keystrokes. Now, again I have given you some indication of exactly what we are going to talk about, View Panel and Edit Keys. So let's take a look at the View Panel first because this is how we are going to kind of move around. These are all features that you guys ask for. So live the good life, okay. So View Panel keys right here. We are going to be able to move from one panel to the other simply by holding the Shift+1 to take us to the Project, Shift+2 takes us to the Source Panel and Shift+3 takes us to the Timeline.
So how are we going to use this in the work flow? Well, let's go back to 1. I am going to go over to here and twirl down HDV to NTSE and bring this up so I can see it. Okay, I am going to select the first clip and go all the way back to 0 because this is how we are going to start. Now, this workflow that you guys ask for is an industry standard workflow that basically removes you from using the mouse. It allows you to use keyboard shortcuts to edit the process and discontinue without having to mess around.
Here is how it works. You are going to select a clip to start off with in the bin right there. There is the first clip we are going to use. We are going to go Shift+Return or Shift+Enter. It is going to put it immediately into the Source window. We are going to make sure that we have a good in and out point, we can hit Spacebar to play. So if I like the out point there, I hit o for out. If I don't like that, I can let it rewind. I can go back to the beginning. I can say, now I have used a mouse here, but I am going to give your workflow that is even going to better. I am going to play this now but the Spacebar hit the in key and now that I am ready to go, I am now going to hit, what, I am going to hit the period (.) key that is going to take us right down into the Timeline.
Now, I need to get back, right to the Project window and into the bin and that is what Shift+1, right? That's going to take me back. I am going to hit the Arrow key to arrow down to the next clip. Shift+Enter, Spacebar to play, i for in, o for out, period (.) key to put it down on the Timeline. Again, Shift+1 takes me back. Arrow down to the next clip, Shift+Enter to put it back in, Spacebar to play and I will tell you life is getting good.
i for in, o for out and period (.) to put it down on the Timeline. So, you can see that this View Panel keys in conjunction with Edit keys is a very quick way to do it. I mean I was doing it slow to show you but you can see that just having keys, no mousing around is a really, really good workflow. It's something you guys ask for and now you have it.
