Hello everyone, and thank you for tuning in The Inside Geek Canada, my name is Evan Thies and today on the iPhone feature I am going to demo an application called camera bag. Now, no one fortunately this does not turn your iPhone into a camera bag although that would be very cool. What this application really allows you to do is basically take a photo from either your camera roll, they have taken from your iPhone or it just note photograph you have could be in your library. And basically you know change them around with some really kind of cool image effects whether that be you know making it kind of more film like or making you know old style black and white kind of thing. So, there are about five different modes and it is just kind of fun to play around with the photos you have taken on your iPhone. At the time I am recording this the application is actually on sale for $299 in the iTunes store and normally it is about $499 so I figured that I would get for $299 because it is a great application but $499 does seem a bit steep to me. So, if you are seeing this and it is still on sale for $299 it is set for the worth while investment.
So, let us just take a quick look at the camera bag. Okay, so among the iPhone menu here just one of my application pages. I want to launch camera bag. So, this is the main user interphase for camera bag. Now, if I first click on the info button here, you can see there are few preferences, basically, this allows you to auto save your shots so after you have corrected it, it will just save for you. You can save the original photo so that way there is no chance of overwriting and the original shot will also be there. Those two I keep off simply because it kind of slows down the program and I do not really need auto save function because I am just kind of you know testing out how some of the photos look. I do like to enable cropping and boarders though because it just helps enhance to look at the photographs.
And the output size is basically how big you want your file. I set in of course to the biggest simply because I want the most pixel size to work with. The problem with that is it takes long time for the program to render all this. So you will be waiting a certain amount of time. In this video I am going to obviously speed it up and cut it but there will be a significant waiting time for these things to process but if I just click done there because that is all the preferences. On the main menu here the first thing here you can do is take a your photograph and basically this one once again would not really make much sense of the placement I am in here with my camera and stuff. But you could just take simply take a your photo and that would show up in your camera roll then and then you could process it in here. That would be great if you traveling around and see something you could simply take a photo and change it right on the go.
The middle button is actually to save, which allows you to save your photo once you have actually added the effect to it. But I am going to go to the third button here which allows me to choose from my photo libraries. I am going to go to my camera roll and I already took a few pictures so I can to demo this applications. I am just going to pick this one here and it just something I had on my front door, this is welcome, I am going to click choose. And right away you can see it is already adding effects. The first effect here is called Helga and basically does the kind of you know square where it washed out and you know has kind of the sides blurb in, it is kind of a cool look.
The next one is 1974, this is basically you know imitating something that maybe was taken back in 1974 you know faded, kind of lots of colors and it adds kind of an interesting boarder around it and crops down so it looks more realistic. The next one is cinema, notice where it would only work for certain photographs like mine here, you can see it kind of cuts off the welcome but what it does basically it does the really slick 16x9 or actually even wider kind of V now cinema look video form. Very kind of moody and wide screen dramatic and it is kind of cool.
The next one is called low-low. This sounds great just to kind of make the colors more vibrant and again it adds the boarder and just gives some really great effects to make it more lively picture. And the last one here is 1962, this basically does the processing for getting a black and white image. It is really cool it does a kind of old style or you know some of the blacks are not quite as dark or there you know when some cases really dark depending on the shaded area and stuff. And you can kind of see what this photograph how it shows up some areas are kind of really dark and some are not and you know some are really bright. It is kind of cool effect you know just getting the old style black and white.
Another cool feature is one you are just looking at these photographs you can actually just move your finger like you would with like cover flow or anything like that and you can just go through all these photographs and it is kind of a cool effect. So let us say we like this black and white shot and we want to save it. So, you simply click the save button, the image will then be save your camera roll library. Where you can simply uploaded to your computer or just view it on your iPhone. So, that was just a quick look at the camera bag application for the iPhone. I really find it a neat application because if you are just on to go taking photos you can actually you know do some post production you know correction on the right on the spot. Or you can just add some effects to your existing photos in your photo library and then it makes it easy to actually just save your photo right with the camera roll. So it is really cool.
If you have any another suggestions for the iPhone feature, any applications I should take a look at or accessories or something for the iPhone that you think it is really cool I will try to take a look at it and you can email me those suggestions at evan@insidegeek.ca. I can also take care on technology really, the questions there if you have any questions. Thanks for checking out this video and we will see you online.
