How to Exercise Your Eye to Relieve Tension
Dr. Travis Stork: So Michelle, you’re 32 right?
Michelle: Yes.
Dr. Travis Stork: What’s your question for us?
Michelle: You know I work onto a computer a lot, in front of the computer a lot and my eyes are stressing. Is there any kind of exercise that I can try to alleviate the stress off my eyes?
Dr. Lisa Masterson: That’s a great question. There is actually this little sort of rule for people who are working on computers to try and give their eyes a little break. Basically it’s called the 20-20-20 rule and if you just happen to have an eye chart next to your computer, it’s basically every 20 minutes you want to focus on something 20 feet away for about 20 seconds and so that will help you sort of relax your eyes and get them out of that you know, sort of routine.
Michelle: Right.
Dr. Lisa Masterson: If you don’t have an eye chart, just look at something.
Dr. Jim Sears: Just look at the clock on the wall or something.
Dr. Travis Stork: Thank you for that question Michelle.
Michelle: Thank you.
