How to Fertilize a Vegetable Garden

Hi I'm Dave Epstein. This is Growing Wisdom and I’ve got some composted cow manure in my hand. Its late Fall and most of my vegetable garden is now put to bed.

But I'm going to be growing here again in just a few months and as I learn more and more about organic gardening, one of the most beneficial things I'm finding is putting down composted cow manure; after I'm done planting areas, mixing it in before I plant again really helps.

So what we’re going to do simply is put down some of this to about an inch or two deep, mixing it in the first couple of inches of soil and I'm going to leave this all Winter long. The nutrients from the manure will work in and this area will be good to plant in the Spring.

It’s a way to revitalize your soil so that you can plant here again next season.

So the area I just revitalized had tomatoes just a couple of months ago. Now it’s ready to go and I can plant whatever I want next Spring.
