How to Find Jeans That Flatter
Veronica Delfino: Hi I’m Veronica and today on WatchMojo.com we’re finding the perfect pair jeans for every shape and size.
Priya Chopra: We’re here in the Guido and Mary Showroom so I’m going to use that as an illustration to show you what’s available. Let’s start with cuts. They have skinny which has become a hugely popular in the last, I would say two years. They flares which are also very, very flattering and most recently they added boyfriend jeans, I’m sure you’ve heard about the rage with the celebrities wearing this look. I personally, it’s not for me but it does have a certain body type that it really well for and then in terms of wash its endless.
I think that’s where denim really gets the show its creativity. The gradient for fall is huge. We have bright colors then we have a marble wash which is also really cool and funky. So here we have lovely Fanny, we have a low rise skinny and gray marble. She’s paired them with really trendy platform sandals.
Here we have a completely different look from the one before. In my opinion this would be great for a night out partying to a lounge or to a club. This is the low rise skinny red rip denim. It has asymmetrical ribs and very flattering on Fanny as well.
Veronica Delfino: So when we first go into the store what’s the first thing that we need to take into consideration?
Priya Chopra: I think it’s important to consider your body size. I mean, we all have got to work with what we’re given we’re all beautiful in our own ways. Women who are I guess more boyish and tall, they tend to look pretty good in skinny jeans, although if you are more fuller into legs you could wear higher boots which I’m wearing today and I’m wearing skinny jeans but higher boots. And then if you are more full figured I think flares are often the way to go.
This is the Ashley jeans and it’s definitely a look that I would suggest for evening. It’s more formal than the one we saw right before. We have the pairing with the body suit which looks really simple and nice and clean. And then we have that trouser fits that’s almost like pants but its denim which makes it trendy.
It’s a black, raw denim with a flare cut so again this is really flattering, very elegant and classy.
Veronica Delfino: Now I noticed on a lot of the jeans here you have strategically placed pockets. How does this help flatter your figure?
Priya Chopra: If you have more of a flatter behind it’s better to have bigger pockets. It makes the bum look fuller, if they're lower on the jean, the kind of flatter a fuller behind more.
Veronica Delfino: As women we all hate the muffin tops, is there anyway to avoid that one on trying on jeans?
Priya Chopra: If you have a jean that’s tight and low waisted, that’s when it really comes out more and especially depending on the top that you’re wearing if it’s a lighter sheer fabric and it’s also fitted into your jean you notice the muffin tops much more. If you do want to avoid that you should stick to a mid to a high waist.
Veronica Delfino: Well thanks! We’re all going to be able to find a perfect pair of jeans now.
Priya Chopra: Thank you for your time.
