Hi this is James from craftmarker.com with the video series, the ten most asked questions about selling your crafts, and the ten questions you should be asking. This is video 5 in the series.
One of the most frequently asked questions we hear is, what are the best selling crafts? Unfortunately, there is no quick and easy answer. You see, it all depends on where, and when and how you are selling. Some crafts sell better different times of the year and some sell better in different regions in the country. One place you can learn with selling online is that eBay.com. In video 1 of the series I explained how to get ideas for crafts by looking at complete auction listings on eBay. You can sort completed auction listings by price, and then see how many bids where placed. This shows how much demands there is.
You can also click on the link to sell, and then choose what’s hot, and just look around there. See if there’s anything you think you can make or add onto. Now, if you’re going to sell a craft shows, you probably want to checking out magazines like, The Crafts Report, or Sunshine Artist, because they sometimes give reviews of shows, and they report on the best selling crafts.
The big problem with chasing after hot selling crafts is that the market is constantly changing. By the time you found the fad, it’s probably on its way out, and you don’t really don’t want to get stuck with inventory of something that’s no longer in. The question you really should be asking is, how can I make them sell crafts that are trend proof and sell consistently all the time? Get the answer on the next video. This is James from craftmarker.com, so you on the next video.
