Hello everybody, Tim Luis here with RepairYourOwnCar.com. I am going to talk about a little bit today about this 1917 forward model teal. I want to talk a little bit about how this part plug work and just point out some different things about the car free guys and give you quick over view be kind of cool.
First thing I want to talk about is the spur plugs. The way that this system works is, is you see it down here and it is like a signal blog to the coils. The coils appear are really cool. I am going to show you shoot on that in a second and the coils signal down to spark plug. Now one of the most impressive things about this spark plug is I am going to take it out very quick for you. You guys, this is different.
Now, right away you can see there is something different about the spark plug. See that, there are two electrodes here. What that does is it creates a bigger spark and allows the motor to fire easily. So it is pretty smart engineering. I am going to go ahead to standby so it is really quick and put it back in and then I am going to show some other cool things about this vehicle.
Okay, so I was talking the spark plug. You have to clean up nice and neat with the same bluster and you take at look that and now you can see a little bit better that these are the two electrodes that help to have bigger spark allowing the engine to fire a bit.
So, I am going to get in. I am just taking this back in there right back down. This is a really cool vehicle because this was actually with the use to deliver mail back in a day. So pretty cool. It runs really, really, really good.
Another thing I want to talk about like this guy said back in a day, they need a car batteries for this thing which I think it is just really because—I mean tractors, if you go back 10 years at the same way, but car out there without batteries and that is pretty cool.
So, we are going ahead just to tag this plug down and then along a top a little bit above the magneto. But the magneto has a grace power for car. It is actually the negative to drive train down there, drive train. And what it does it has got of bunch of this little magneto over here. See that. And this magnates are all align like in the certain order and when the copper or coil spins, it create power and the power goes up to the coils up here and allows to dealing all the sense part, just part plugs.
The magneto can create up to 18 vaults and even power of the light and the horn. So you really did need a battery at all if you want. This one actually has a converting generic for electric start because we are too lazy to hang cranks it. Think over and show you that coils now. These are pretty cool.
Okay, so where we have it. Here is the coil. Every single sooner has it is own coil. So there are four of these up there in the dash and they just pop right up there for the seals. So it is pretty cool in there. I am going to take you over there and show you exactly what that looks like and there you are. There they all edges right in the dash. So you can see this guys pretty cool. It definitely has old antique look to it and we have not modified too much. We got the wood box in there and the seals are still in still. So, I am going to start on that one, but you guys see it run and show some cool things on this guy.
So now I am going to show how to start this guy up by hand. First thing we are going to do is to turn this key on right here and I am going to take you up front and show you how to hand crank start this. Now, something you want to remember is that his hand crank down here, if you got and found your money outside it can buck on and kick this film off. So it keep down, down here just like this, it is like it is caught. It does found of right here or more so over here. But here we go, I will show you.
So you got a choke right here. We are going to pull on at, put that down and just give her a good string.
All right, we have a starting fluid. Hopefully this will work. Can see, driving nice and good. It is very impressive.
