Hello again! I'm Rodney Reynolds from 3dgameman.com. This next question is, how do you fix a dead pixel?
Well, unfortunately you cannot fix the dead pixel but you might be able to fix a stuck pixel. And by the way, if your LCD is still under warranty try returning it for a replacement or something else. This is one of the reasons why I purchase LCDs from large reputable retail chain stores like Costco, Circuit City, Best Buy and FUTURESHOP because they have fantastic return policies.
Now, what's the difference between a dead and stuck pixel? Dead pixels are black and stuck pixels are usually white or some other color. The first technique, I would recommend you try is using a software. A couple of software programs that I'm familiar with, the first one is UD Pixel and the other one I really liked is JScreen Fix. You can visit them at www.jscreeenfix.com.
Now the other two techniques could damage your LCD and possibly cause more stuck pixels. So, I thought I’d tell you that before telling you how to do these different techniques. The first one is a pressure technique, all you need is a pen or a pencil not with a sharp end though, ideally a stylist pen or a tabloid pen would be perfect a damn cloth, that’s all you need, and a damn cloth. Put the cloth over the pen, you’ve got to point the object here and the cloth really is only to protect the screen from you scratching it. Look, first of all, locate the stuck pixel then turn off the screen push on the screen with a firm out force but not too much, you don’t want again to damage the LCD or cause more pixels to be stuck. And while the screen is off, keep applying pressure then turn the screen on and then release it and it should be unstuck. If it isn’t, you could try this technique again.
The other one is a tapping technique. For this you can use this end of a sharpie marker, its perfect and you can just–when the monitor is on, just tap on the stuck pixel repeatedly, again, fairly hard but not hard enough to damage or cause anymore stuck pixels and that might possibly work.
I hope this answers your question and keep your questions coming.
