Hey, I’m. Shawn from Sprinkler Daddy and in this video, I just want to talk about some troubleshooting stuff for the RainBird5000 heads.
Sometimes when people install them, they give me a call or drop me an email and say that they’re having troubles with it with the head actually leaking not from or between the turret and the actual base of the sprinkler. They’re having some leaking problems there and 95% of the time, more often than not, the solution is during the installation, you’ve got some dirt in the lines or rock and in the fitting or something like that that’s getting into the sprinkler and causing it the water to shoot out in places that are not supposed to.
So, the best advice that I can give, the first thing that you should try if you’re having troubles with the sprinklers leaking, one thing you can do is just screw the sprinkler off of the fitting and run water through, to make sure that there’s no dirt in the lines that are getting in the sprinklers and then actually take the sprinkler off and you can clean it out a little bit.
So what you can do is this top, the thickest part here. You can actually screw right off so then you’ve got the body there and then they actually gear in the rotor here and just make sure that there’s no rocks in anywhere; a little stones, a little pieces of dirt, that can all cause the sprinkler to leak.
So if you’re having troubles with your RainBird5000’s leaking on you a little bit after you’ve installed them, I would definitely suggest cleaning it first before you go or place the whole head.
