Okay guys, this video here is going to be about having troubled booting your computer and I think this works for XP and previous versions of Windows but I know it works for Windows Vista. Okay. So, let’s say you hit the power button on your computer and you see your BIOS that says HP, or Dell, or eMachine Acer, whatever kind of computer you have. And then instead of booting your operating system whatever that maybe, it says something like—error 51 or 21 which was my most recent error.
So, here’s how to fix that. If you don’t have the Vista setup DVD or CD or CDs, there are other ways to do it but this tutorial isn’t going to show you how to do that. So, first thing you’re going to want to do is boot into that and make sure in your BIOS, it’s set to boot from a CD or DVD drive first and boot into that. Then click on repair your computer and then start up repair. If you’ll get the error that I had that said that windows couldn’t detect any problems when it’s trying to start then cancel that window out and open the command prompt. First thing you’re going to want to do is when you get the command prompt open you’re going to see something like this, probably you can’t even see here.
It either sets that or administrator or admin or something like that. In the first window there you’re going to want to change it. The first thing you’re going to type is capital C, colon (C:) enter, that’s going to change your directory to something that will just look like that, that’s what you want to be on the C drive.
When you’re there type in bootrec, no spaces, no capital letter and then hit enter. You’re going to get a couple of options there. First thing you’re going to want to do is type in fixboot, all one word, no caps, no spaces, enter, might take a couple of second to complete that. That’s good. After that type in fixmbr, no spaces, no caps. After that you might see, when you type in bootrec, you might see a couple of other options, type those into and then hit enter. After that restart your computer and your boot later should be restart.
After that you can see my other videos on how to use—I don’t have it installed, that EasyBCD boot letter control. That was in my tool booting windows operating system. So, hopefully that will help you out. And thanks for watching and there’s more to come soon.
