Gregg Giannillo: This one is from Aries 909. I have very frizzy and wavy hair. I use mousse everyday because I have no idea what else to do with it. But I heard it causes hair loss and also damages my hair. My question is how can I reverse my hair damage and how can I get rid of my flyaway. Please help.
Well first of all mousse does not cause hair loss. So it would have to be an extreme case in order for it to cause hair loss. What it will do is the large amounts of alcohol that are in most and I say most not all mousses will cause your hair to dry out and especially if you use them excessively.
So the first thing you need to do is create a balance between your styling and your conditioning. You can do that by using a product like this one. This is Aveeno Nourish and Condition Leave-In Treatment. You apply this basically every time you’re going to apply your mousse, prior to it. Layer the products, it works really well. It will protect your hair, prevent the alcohol that’s in the mousse from damaging further. And you’ll really get a great result.
Now with regards to your flyaways, this is a little trick that I use on every set that I never on and it will probably work for you. A little clear mascara if you take it out and just gently rub it on to your flyaway and they will all lay down flat and behave. That’s our tip of the day.
