Here, I’ll show you how to make a four point star. I’m going to use two one dollar bills to make this but if you like, you can just take a square sheet of paper and cut it in half and use those two pieces. With the dollar faced up, turn it upside. Fold the bottom edge of the dollar up to the frame to where it says, one dollar. You’ll need to do this both bills. If you're using a half sheet of square origami paper, it’s much easier. You just fold the sheet in half. Now take one of the corners of the sheet and fold it up. And we’re going to take the corner at the opposite end of the sheet and fold it down.
Now, we’ll need to make the second piece, you fold the corners, up and down just like the first piece but in opposite directions. The second piece is not symmetrical to the first, it’s actually a mirror image. Now, take this corner and fold it up in the end towards the middle. Flip it over and make sure that these edges line up. Now, take the other corner and fold it down and in towards the middle. You’ll need to repeat this process on the other piece. Take note that the side with the corner that was folded up is now going to be fold down and vice versa.
When you’ve done this correctly, you should have two mirror images. Now take one piece and flip it over. Take the piece that you didn’t flip over and place it on top of the other piece. Take one of the points of the bottom piece and fold it in to form a triangle. Take the point and tuck it under the flap of this piece on top. Take the other point of the piece on the bottom and repeat the process. Now flip the whole thing over and repeat the process. Fold it up and tuck in. Fold it down and tuck in. And there’s your four point star and here is a throwing star and here is a ninja star and here is a shuriken and whatever else you might call these things.
