How to Follow Through a 50 Yards Shot

Now, one of the thing you are going to see on this shot is a fairly abbreviated follow through. So it's not a big high flowing follow through. Why? Because I don't have a momentum to carry me through to that swing. You know that I get that quite often out on the ranges talking about follow through, I never think about follow through and I don't want my students to either.

Follow through is always a response to the momentum that the swing had. You will never see a tour player take a small swing on the back stroke and then explode into a big high follow through, that's pushing the club along its way. Now, if I did make a nice full back swing and a full acceleration yes, that carries me right on through to a full finish. So you are going to be looking for the size of the follow through there, don't try and explode on the way through, just go ahead and swing it comfortably. If you find that you are only follow through to here that's absolutely fine, that's pretty common.

So again the follow through, always a response to the momentum of your swing, that's any shot that you play.
